Who We Are
NZ Chinese Digital Safety & Anti-Scam Trust was founded by Ms Yumei She and Ms Zhi Chen, and formally registered on 4 March 2026 as a charitable trust in New Zealand (CC64883) under Charities Services New Zealand. We produce free, accessible Chinese-language educational content on digital safety and scam prevention — to help community members recognise risks and take action.
Our work is driven by a commitment to the wellbeing and safety of the Chinese-speaking community in New Zealand.
Why We Exist
Digital scams continue to affect the Chinese community in New Zealand, including phone and online scams that can cause financial loss and emotional distress. Language and cultural barriers often make it harder for Chinese-speaking residents to access the safety information available in English.
- Phone and online scams affecting Chinese-speaking residents in New Zealand
- Language and cultural barriers limiting access to English-language safety resources
- A gap in Chinese-language digital safety education that needs to be filled
- Older community members who may be more vulnerable to scam tactics
